Makhana Kheer

Makhana , is one common Indian pop lotus seeds – used for vrat as phalahar. It is also called Taal Makhana. It can be sauted in Ghee and consumed with salt and pepper. Used extensively as dried fruit in various preparations.

Here we are going to prepare MAKHANA KHEER for the Bhog Samagri of Shree Thakurji .

Ingredients

  • Milk – 1 liter.
  • Sugar to taste
  • Makhana 1 cup
  • Pistachio chopped
  • Strands of Saffron.

Preparation Method

  • Boil milk and reduce it to half. 
  • Wash the makhana , carefully picking up the outer shells if any. Add them to the boiling milk.
  • Continue boiling till the Makhana are soft. Now add sugar and cook for 1 min.
  • Remove from fire and add the chopped Pistachio and Kesar- Saffron strands.
  • Serve Shree Thakurji – warm or cold, with lots of love and devotion, requesting hi m to accept and get nourished
