Rava Upma

Rava or Sooji or Semolina is easy on stomach to digest, this light and quick savory – is complete meal and snack as you want to offer your Lord. With lot of seasonal green veggies , so perfect for low calorie dieters, it is a colourful full nutrition and fiberous meal for Shri Thakurji.


  • 1/2 Cup Soooji
  • 1/2 Chopped mixed Veggies [ Carrots, green peas, Cauliflower, French Beans, Capsicum,Tomatos
  • Some ginger grated
  • finely chpped Green Chilles
  • Chashew Nuts broken
  • Resins
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbs Ghee
  • Water 1 cup
  • Some Urad Dal. Mustard Seeds , Curry Leaves for Garnishing .

Preparation Method

Heat a pan , add ghee and the garnishings – Urad Dal, Mustard Seeds,curry leaves and saute till the dal is pink, mustard is done in spluttering.

Add the Sooji and roast it when done add chopped mix veggies and water , salt, grated ginger, chilles chopped, dry fruits…mix well and allow the Upma to thicken a bit .

Takeout and serve in a flat bowl and offer to the dear deity with a sprig of Tulsa leaf.
